Bella Patagonia

Dominica Estancia

The owners of a large sustainable farm near Patagonia in Chilé financed this short film.

It will be featured in various websites to entice potential nature tourists and environmentally conscious donors.

Shot on the RED Camera at 1920x1080, it renders a truly beautiful portrait of a sanctuary at the edge of the world.

Inside the Orchestra: The Filming of "Keeping Score"

In a series of documentaries called "Keeping Score", SFS music director Michael Tilson Thomas profiles famous composers and the Symphony performs their masterworks.

I cut this short documentary to serve as a Special Feature on the first Blu-Ray and DVD release of the "Keeping Score" Hector Berlioz episode.

Gap

Apple iPad Demo

The Gap is using Apple's hottest new accessory to promote their brand and enable impulse buying. SF advertising agency AKQA devised an endless wall of content that consumers can navigate on the iPad.

Using After Effects, I combined screen captures and various elements to simulate the interactive possibilities the new Gap application.

Hewlett-Packard

The Plastiki Voyage

This documentary chronicles the efforts of David de Rothschild as he directs artists and craftsman in the construction of Plastiki, a unique 60 foot boat made from 12,500 reclaimed plastic bottles.

HP generously donated computers, printers, and imaging technology to the team, and presented this film at their annual company conference.

Nintendo

Mario Super Sluggers

To showcase their Interactive work, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners submitted this to the Effie Awards. The on-line campaign used the nostalgia of collecting of baseball cards as a way to get kids excited about Nintendo's new game.

Using Adobe After Effects, I based my animations on the colorful character designs and the motion of shuffling cards.

Saturn

Saturn Sky Dome

At the 2005 WIRED Magazine NextFest, Saturn pioneered a revolutionary method of showcasing a car. Their newly designed convertible was placed inside a dome that used digital projections to simulate outdoor environments.

To demonstrate features of the vehicle, video projections were mapped onto the car, simulating interactive cut-away views of the automobile.

Nintendo

Wario Smashes YouTube

To promote Nintendo’s new release, featuring the destructive character Wario, they wanted something that would stand out from the ocean of online YouTube game footage, catching the eye of seasoned gamers and new comers alike.

Goodby, Silverstein & Partners submitted this video to the annual Effie Awards Show, showcasing the work of their Interactive Department.

Adobe

Acrobat Reader Demo

To showcase the updated version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners created an ad campaign tied into March Madness basketball playoffs.

I simultaneously conceptualized and designed the animation, directed both an animator and a sound designer, and cut the video in a single week.

Saturn

Numbers

This is a simple speculative commercial that I cut together using stock photography.

Saturn liked the spec spot enough to go ahead and finance a full production.

Comcast

Mr. T

What can I say, without sounding like a fool?

San Francisco Symphony

The Composer is Dead

Lemony Snicket, beloved author of many children's books, teamed up with his long-time friend, composer Nathaniel Stookey, to create a live performance that educates children about the components of an orchestra and the emotional range of classical music.

Hewlett-Packard

Change Artists: Reuters

For some time, HP produced a webcast called "Change Artists", which profiled Chief Officers of various large companies.

This commercial promoted a webcast featuring the CEO and CTO of Reuters, the international news service and financial market data provider.

I cut the spot on an Avid workstation and had an animator provide the intro, ending, and flying arrows.
